Jewelry care to increase its longevity

Wear with care

No matter the quality, jewelry is not bulletproof. To prevent the metal from scratching, bending or discoloring:

  • Avoid rigorous activity or abrasives (such as working out) while wearing rings
  • Prevent harsh chemicals (such as cleaning products) and perfumes from coming into contact with jewelry

The easiest way to achieve this is to avoid excessive wearing of jewelry; take them off and give them a breather from time to time.

Store properly

When you're not wearing them, store them well to prevent tarnishing and oxidation. You may consider the following methods:

  • Store pieces individually in soft dustbags, such as the Juune jewelry pouch that is shipped with your purchase
  • Avoid contact with other metals to prevent scratching and discoloration
  • Keep away from direct sunlight or moisture
Clean regualrly

In general, jewelers recommend keeping pieces away from water for fear of seawater or chlorine oxidizing the jewelry.

But water in itself is not the enemy. To keep its shine and lustre, your piece could actually benefit from a quick rinse in mild soap and water, or a wipe down with a soft, damp cloth from time to time.

Alternatively, you could also wipe down the jewelry with a piece of polishing cloth and avoid moisture altogether.
